One of the most important holidays of the people of Mexico, Cinco De Mayo has since been adopted as a favorite of Americans everywhere who love to celebrate with great Mexican food, drink, and music. Here’s a quick bit of background for those who may not be quite familiar with the popular holiday’s origin.

• Cinco de Mayo honors Mexico’s important and unexpected triumph over French forces at the Battle of Puebla in May 1862. The victory of a largely untrained, ill-equipped army of Mexican soldiers over an extremely disciplined, well-armed French army could have been foreseen by noone! France invaded Mexico in an attempt to secure repayment of money previously borrowed by Mexico.

• Although the celebrated battle of Cinco de Mayo's origin was fought and won in 1862, Mexico did not succeed in fully defeating the French Army and forcing them to exit the country until 5 years later, in 1867.

•  In Mexico, the holiday is called “El Día de la Batalla de Puebla” (The Day of the Battle of Puebla). Puebla hosts a battle reenactment each year. The holiday is celebrated in the state of Puebla, but not widely commemorated elsewhere in Mexico.
  
  

• Cinco De Mayo is not the same as Mexican Independence Day - a separate holiday established more than 50 years before (1810) Cinco De Mayo’s Battle of Puebla. Mexican Independence day is celebrated on September 16th.

• The United States has more than 54 million residents who are of Mexican origin, according to the 2013 United States Census Bureau.

• Guacamole is hugely popular today, with the California Avocado Commission estimating that Americans use about 87 million pounds of the green fruit in their Cinco de Mayo meals.

• Americans spend about $2.9 billion annually on margaritas, which account for about 14 percent of the country’s cocktail sales. Bloomberg reports that skyrocketing lime costs now make the lime juice in the drink more costly than the tequila. Cinco de Mayo is the biggest day for margarita sales, Bloomberg reports.

CAN I ORDER ANOTHER SHIRT WITH THE SAME DESIGN LATER?

Absolutely, we keep customer files indefinitely.  When you call to get your design reprinted, be sure to give us your full name and a brief description of your original graphic.  This will allow us to find it and print it for you immediately.

CAN I BRING MY OWN SHIRTS TO BE PRINTED?

Absolutely.  Keep in mind that we typically print on cotton and cotton blends (with a 50/50 mix being preferable).  We also print on 100% polyester items; however the wash fastness cannot be guaranteed. 

WHOSE PROPERTY IS THE ARTWORK THAT IS GENERATED?

All artwork created by you for your order remains your property and will be maintained at our store for our exclusive usage in executing your orders.  Any artwork that Big Frog generates on your behalf remains the property of Big Frog.

A t-shirt of your choice of color, size, style, a design for the shirt with as many colors as you want in it, the printing of the shirt on one side and a sincere thank you.  If you would like a second print, there is an additional charge. 

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM ORDER?

With our printing technologies you can order as few as ONE custom t-shirt and as many as 10,000 t-shirts.

DO YOU OFFER VOLUME DISCOUNTS?

Absolutely, starting at just 10 items. You can even mix and match the items. It doesn't have to be the same style or color!

HOW QUICKLY CAN I GET MY ORDER?

If you choose a style, color and size that we have in stock, your shirts will go into our printing queue and you may have them in 24 hours.  If we need to order your shirts, then it will be a minimum of 48 hours until your order is complete.  However, if you are in a rush, then we can get your shirts sooner, but a rush fee will apply.

TN Embroidery Stitch Types

Contact BIG FROG® CUSTOM T-SHIRTS located on Carothers Parkway for all your different TN embroidery stitch types.  Stitches used in embroidery has a great effect on the creativity and art of embroidery. Each stitch type that is used creates a unique appearance.

• Straight Stitch – Very basic. Used in a line or in adjacent placements;
• Chain Stitch – Known as the Tambour stitch. One of the oldest decorative stitches in use;
• Split Stitch - Known as a Kensington stitch. Frequently used to outline other stitched areas or used as a fill-in-shading. Requires thread that can be split easily;
• Buttonhole Stitch - Known as blanket stitches. The foundation for many other stitch types. Can prevent fabric edges from raveling;
• Satin Stitch - Sometimes called Damask stitch. Several straight stitches placed close to each other to create a satin appearance;
• Back Stitch - Often used in outlining;

What are the different embroidery styles?

·         Crewel – Uses wool thread and stitch types such as split, satin, and chain stitches. Designs are large and bold.

·         Cross Stitch - Precise placement of x-shaped stitches on fabric with a pre-printed picture on it, and has evenly spaced threads and stitch holes. Cotton floss is the used thread.
